Now I meet a situation: The material A for production receipt, most of all , we need post it to Insp. Stock first, after Inspetion results record, make Usage Decision, post to UU. But for several batch, the customer urgency, we need skip "post to Insp. Stock", immediately post to UU, then delivery to customer by sales order and delivery order, after this record inspection results.
Could any experts give some advice?

Is there a way to set a default value for a selected set?
I am using a selected set for a characteristic (created though CT04), and my intention is to set a default value for it.
The characteristic is created for batches of a certain material. When I try to assign the value in the material master (MM02), that value is set as fixed for all new batches for this material. This means that I am not allowed to change it.
Then, I am looking for the option to define a default value which comes from the selected set.

We are doing QM Notification for customer complaints. I have a question.
We are getting 100 complaints from customer in a month, we processed all through notification and at the end came to know that few of them say 40 are justified and remaining 60 are not justified.
if I want to see report after 6 months that out of received complaints how many were justified? how can i do it?
In other words, what should i maintain in system to mark notification as Justified or unjustified?

Hi Experts,
I have created a BDC in SHDB for the transaction code:CWBQM for creating and deleting the record and converted the BDC recording into the program using call transaction. It is working fine in both foreground and background. When I given the same program for users testing one for the user was able to delete the records but Creation is not working in the same BDC. He is able to create the same records in another PC and the problem is only in that PC and only during the creation of the record. When I change the mode to 'A' mode for testing and request the user to execute and it is working fine the records created successfully. What could be the issue ?

can we change the inspection description after usage decision has been made.

Initially i created a sampling procedure,i had opted for free inspection points & done some recording results & taken UD. Then i changed the sampling procedure i removed the option of "Inspection points" & chose sample management.I have cleared the inspection lots also.
For a new material in inspection plan when i try to assign Sample procedure i am encountering a error message.
Message no. QD242
The specified sampling procedure can only be used for inspection-point-related inspections and is, therefore, not allowed in this environment.
You cannot select this sampling procedure.
Choose a different sampling procedure.
Is it not possible to use the old sampling procedure should i create a new sampling procedure even after i have created the inspection lots?

Hello All,
My client needs the ability to change the results of characteristics after a Usage Decision.
To enable this we have created a Quality Plan with all the ‘Long Term’ Characteristics as ‘Optional’.
In the Selected Set Codes we have Marked ‘1 – Consider Long Term Characteristics for Stock Proposal’.
Once a UD has been done, we have to goto QA12 to manually reset each Inspection Lot before we are permitted to change the Characteristic values.
The system does not permit a change otherwise.
Is there any configuration that would permit us to change the characteristic values without resetting the status of each individual Inspection lots after UD has been made.

Hi Experts,
I need your help on the below scenario to check the feasibility and possible solution.
Scenario : We have a MIC result recording screen where user needs to attach document(mostly captured image) for each or some MIC and record the Inspection results in SAP QM along with documents.
we are using SAP MII as front end to record the results and then post these results recording along with document to SAP QM.
please guide what is the best solution to achieve this , Is there any BAPI available to do this etc..?

I am trying to find the need to use a Q info record. I know how to create one and what all it does. But I can run business even without having a Q info record and have all the quality functions for a material. So my question is what is the absolute reason to have a Q info record? Is there any harm in not having one ?

As a newer in QM, I just know "Inpsection Lot Origin" has predefine eighteen standard inspectino situation which QM could hold.
But in current project, I notice that there are more situations that SAP not predefined, such as inspection for the water, which was a big part of laboratory work, dealed as energy just like natural gas and electricty without material code.
So my question is not about technical like how to fit some special business, is more about the priciple define the ERP project QM module's scope.
Could any experts give a hand? Any self-mind would be helpful.
Or any advice about how to deal with the water inspction, which without material code, also could be very helpful.

curently we are facing an issue of having to mass change inspection lotes when assigning UD code.
The senario is as follows:
using the tcode QA16 I can mass assign UD code for various inspection lotes using the option "in background". The requisition of the client is, however, to enter also a description text, for all the lotes treated. I an use the tcode QA16 and run a UD manual option, that lets me enter a long text for each inspection lote, along with assigning UD code. That is not acceptable, since there are daily hundrets of lots, we are talking about. That makes the manual option very time consuming.
Anyone had a similar issue? What I am looking for here is some exit, or other type of solution that allows me basically replicate the long text (the same for all treated lots) for various lots automatically. I was thinkig of QA16, making some necessary adjustments, but I not sure if it will serve for this purpose.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated,

Dear All,
I am facing this issue of Unplanned Audit coming in check box while creating an Audit(Tcode PLMD_AUDIT).
When i try to create an Audit it shows Unplanned Audit as check mark and disabled. Why is this so?
I have created the Audit Plan before and then while creating Audit Unplanned Audit CheckBox is coming greyed out.
Please tell about it.

We have created a MIC in QS21 / QS22 and it is saved. Immediately, without using anywhere we tried to change it by QS23. but it is giving an error "No validity period was selected for master inspection charac " Message no. QS150.
Please help me to resolve this issue asap.
The answer for the system responses are as follows;
1. The master inspection characteristic has not been created - the status is being created
2. You do not have authorization to edit the master inspection characteristic - no issues with authorisation
3. The master inspection characteristic is being used/has been used and cannot therefore be deleted - no where used.

system pops a warning message value exceeds value.How to record the excess value recorded in the system?It does not allow the value enter or
save the result.Is this a standard SAP phenomenon.If the system does not allow then how to record the exceeded value
I have defined Qualitative & Quantitative Characteristics.While doing results recording i am trying to add one more Quantitative Characteristics.The system is displaying all qualitative Characteristics created not the Quantitative Characteristics.
In MIC i have selected Incomplete copy model is it the reason for not displaying Quantitative Characteristics?

I have strange problem.
I have some materials with more or less same characateristic with long-term and same inspection type.
When i validate these characteristic, and close them.. Also a i take user decision. If i go to change charact.'s results, i can change.. -- > perfect.
But sometimes, if i do the same with another material... i can not change result's charact. i don't see them on screen.
Even, i see that lot status has ICCO "All inspections completed", and "STIC" Short-term insp. completed. When all my characteristic is "long -term"
do you know what i do wrong ??
have i master data wrong ??' what i can check ???

We want to restrict the force UD for inspection lot whose MIC has been rejected,we do not want to go for status profile creation.Eg. for MIC X range is 10 -15 we got the value 16 which is rejected and with lot should be lock automatically and force UD should not be allowed.after unlocking the lock UD is possible.we have seen manual that through Function there is the option of block and unblock,is it possible of block the lot when Result Recording is out of range.
