QM Usage decision posting transmitting via IDoc MBGMCR

Dear QM gurus,

 

I have a question related to UD distribution respectively distribution of material document created once UD is recorded; the distribution is IDoc-based (message MBGMCR). My idea is to create output message (e.g. ZUDD) for ALE trans. medium and logical system LS but don´t know what processing program / routine should be used. The distinction of material document created from UD is a transaction / even key WQ. The IDoc handling will be done via XI, so how to trigger output message from R/3? The purpose is to distribute information of stock posting (from initial QI to UU or BL) to external WMS system.

Incoming Inspection at purchase order type level

Hello guys,

 

Would anyone know if we can somehow activate inspection for goods receipt for one type of purchase order and not another. Part A when GR'd against PO type ZA should not create an inspection lot. However if the same part is GR'd against PO type ZL an inspection lot is to be created.

I don't think this can be done using standard system but need confirmation please and also any tips/ advise if somehow this could be done using an enhancement.

Quality Stock Posting

Hi Friends,

 

How the stock quantity can move to quality stock if at the time of process order confirmation stock type is "unrestriced use" and at the time of good receipt for order also stock type is  maintained as "unrestricted use" and saved. But inspection lot is created as stock relevent lot whereas in material master inspection setup "post to insp. stock" is unchecked (not active).

 

Is there any settings in QM that we can post the stock despite "post to insp. stock" is unchecked (not active)?

Moderation in QM space

Hello QM folks,

 

I need to get your views on this. Lets have a healthy discussion!!

 

Thought of starting this discussion came into my mind after Space editors and moderator names started appearing on the forum page itself. May be this has happened after one of the recent shutdown breaks taken by SCN. Earlier, it was to be done by clicking on the 'People' tab.

 

Anyways, I don't even know how the moderators are going to react on this discussion but, as an active member here, I have something in my mind and I must ask.

 

We all can see four names under the moderator & space editor but I have never seen a single post, comment or any thing from them except Craig S.

I became SCN member in April last year and then I wasn't active for next six months. From September, I started participating & actively participating till now.

 

Only reason behind this discussion is that I've seen lot of easily searchable queries, double posting, points gaming in the recent weeks. I use 'Alert moderator' very frequently, but few times, an obvious alert is rejected without a reason.

My only intention is to keep this place clean & intact.

 

I do ask less and most of times I'm into responding to queries. I search daily. It simply means I'm into search process and get answers to almost every query of mine. But even in those search results, I have never seen other three names


Therefore, What shall I conclude? 

Are they inactive moderators? Or they are active and doing moderation but just don't post anything??



Looking forward to know your views.

PS: All you folks, of all the moderator's rejection you have received, I'm not behind each of them. I hit it only when it is very very basic, wrong space issue, point gaming or some protected content is involved!!

QA32-Total quantity to be posted zero

Hi
I want to restrict the quantity to be posted in QA32
for example,
I have lot of 15 QTY,

Now i want to transfer these 15 QTY with the available options such that the Total quantity to be posted should be zero, then only it will allow to save the UD,

Now i can save UD by placing less than the inspection lot quantity, is there any option available in standard to have the check on total quantity of inspection lot?

Quality notification possible performance problem

Dear experts,

 

In our company we plan to use Quality notification to record the data for each serial number produced in the plant.

For each serial number the Q-notification is created.

For each serial number the defects could be recorded and also other data will be written on the notification item level.

Yearly we produce about 500000 pieces of equipment, that means 500000 Q-notifications will be created yearly, each notification with about 5-10 items.

Now I am worrying weather if the big amount of data could cause performance problems.?

500000 notifications x 10items means 5000000 yearly records.

 

I know there could be problem when Q-notification has a lot of items. What about in my case? A lot of notifications with few items.

Can I expect performance problems?

Customer returned the faulty products, I want to send them to quality check instead of sending them to normal stock.  Where should we do the configuration?

Why do we need material specification for transfering results to class char.

Hi,

 

Can you guys tell me why do we need to create material specification if we want to transfer quality inspection results to a batch class?

Basically I have done the following:

 

-Create Class Characteristic

-Assign the Class Characteristic to a batch class

-Link Class Char.  to MIC

-Assign MIC to an Inspection Plan

-Post GR, batch and inspection lot are created automatically

-Record Results for inspection Lot

-Make UD for Inspection Lot

 

The result is not transferred to batch class, then I create material specification with the MIC assigned, the results can be transferred. But why?

Integrating QM with Mii

Hi Experts,

 

I am assisting a client implementing QM and Mii.

 

I've lots of experience with QM, and none with Mii.

 

The Mii Lead passed a series of Standard BAPIs (approx. 30) to me with the statement:                                                                                                                         

 

                     "Hope this help to find which will work for us based on their data configuration".

 

What am I to do with this information??

How should it be studied??

What should I take away from this information?.......... with the goal of assisting him implementing Mii???

 

Your thoughts areound this will be greatly appreciated..

MIC assignmet in an inspection plan as recipie

Hello experts,

 

I have no access to the SAP system. I'm doing a blueprint session. The question is quite simple:

 

Can I assign the same MIC multiple times in the same inspection plan or master recipie?  The product inspection

requires the same MIC be checked twice...

 

Based on simple QM functionality, I'd say yes.

Dynamic Sampling Procedure

Dear gurus,

I have a requirement, my client wants to achieve a scenario for inward inspection. For Vendor-Material-Plant combination they want to do 100% inspection for some fixed number of lots (Say some 5 numbers), if they do not found any defect, then they want to follow a sampling plan for selecting number of quantities that should be inspected.

Please help me to solve this issue.

Not found Detail Log for QM_CONTROL in Archiving

Hi All,

     We are archiving QM_CONTROL object, Created Variant with specific period with selection profile & maintain the Customization & Technical settings.after Prepossessing in job spool system is showing only the No of records selected,but not showing  Detail Log below & i checked in Logs tab also in initial screen, system showing massage" No log was generated".

Kindly help me to see the detailed list of inspection lots.

Stock Posting to New Material

Hello Experts,

 

 

The key user of QM module want that the QA11 transaction will suggest the same batch number when he is
gonna to do the stock posting to new material, because they dont change the
batch number when do this procedure.

 

I want your advise, because i dont find any User Exit  or set up to do that.

reverse stock unrestricted to quality. ud has not done

my user has done result recording  after that they want to post material in block stock but by mistake they posted to unrestricted , but he did not do UD,

now suggest me how i will  reverse unrestricted to quality.

Inspection method

My client requirement is that they want to enlarge the characteristics of inspection method to 18 digit.Means when we create an inspection method by QS31 ,we can see it allows inspection method name upto 8 digit.So is there any possiblity to enlarge the characteristics length upto 18 digit?

My requirement is to calculate Tensile Strenghth , my formula is as below

 

TS = Tensile Strength = Maximum load / ∏D2/4

 

How to define in formula in Inspection plan for specific formula.

Drop Down List required during result recording in QE51N

Dear SAPians,

 

My user is recording results in by creating manual inspection lots (inspection lot origin '89').

 

The inspection is being recorded against inspection point '320' as mention below ;

The requirement is that in the below screen shot , a predefined drop down list of sample ID is required to map in the field of Sample/Source field of Inspection point.

QM Integration integration/implementation into established system

Hello Experts -Colleagues

 

I am in the kickoff stage of a new QM implementation.

 

Client has an established solution ECC 6.0, which does not have QM. 

 

They are a regulated HACCP facility. 

 

PP is installed. Process Orders drive inspection lot creation in other plants where QM was implements some time ago.

 

My question is:

 

Before I do any type of basic config., or development, what basic considerations should be thought through and planned out, prior to going forward. I'm aware of and have thoroughly read the QM prerequisites and building blocks. 

 

My question is based on the fact that several settings for PP and SD are already in place which QM can and will negatively affect if not properly and carefully planned.  

 

What type of basic checks should I make prior to any changes or config settings in my first sandbox and development clients??

 

This would be much easier if all modules were being implemented simultaneously as in a typical SAP launch including QM.

 

Hope the question is clear.  I appreciate all help and different ideas. All answers are correct answers.

Creation of multiple Quality Notifications

Is there a standard functionality available to create multiple quality notifications ? We have a requirement where we have to upload a file to create notifications for multiple material and batch combinations. This functionality would be performed every day since I cannot use LSMW or standard upload programs which are one time use only.
